Daily activities at our aged care facility in Auckland

Staying active, maintaining much-loved hobbies, and engaging in regular activities are the best ways to stay healthy and happy in retirement.

Our Activities Co-ordinator is on hand 5 days a week to oversee the wide range of activities and interest groups on offer at our aged care facility. The aim is to nurture creativity and a healthy, active lifestyle; not to mention fun, companionship and laughter!

Something for everyone

We will do our best to maintain the lifestyle each resident had prior to making Papatoetoe their home. No matter where your loved one's personal interests lie, our programme is sure to have just the thing to make them smile.

Our activities co-ordinator carefully crafts a programme that caters to all levels of mobility and gives our residents the opportunity to participate in pleasurable pastimes no matter what the weather.

Interest groups and activities

At Papatoetoe Residential Care, we offer our residents a comprehensive and varied activity programme including: Art, BBQ, Big print books, Bingo, Board games, Bowls, Breakfast in bed, Canine friends, Cards, Care and Craft, Children, Church, Classical Music, Concerts, Cooking, Craft, Dancing, Entertainment, Exercises, Flower arranging, Games, Happy Hour, Housie, Indoor Games, Jigsaws, Library, Massage, Movies, Music, Newspaper reading, Outings, Parties, Pianist, Quizzes, Reading, Roses, Shopping, Sing-a-longs, Theatre and DVD’s. We have SKY installed in our lounge and our residents enjoy following their favourite sports.

We maintain relationships with: Age Concern, Alzheimer’s Society, Blind Foundation, Parkinson’s Society, , Senior Citizens and the Stroke Group. The RSA visit on a weekly basis. We also have a resident cat, and regular dog visits.
